Dollars set on fire ahead of sanctions reimposition

TEHRAN – A day before the anti-Iran sanctions come back into force, thousands took to the streets in Tehran on Sunday to condemn the U.S. behavior toward Iran, especially under President Donald Trump’s administration. Marking the 1979 U.S. embassy takeover, the rally saw American and Israeli flags burned.

Crowds held anti-American banners, some of which read “Down with U.S.” An effigy of Trump, placed on huge prints of 100-dollar banknotes, was burned outside the former U.S. embassy in Tehran, while others were seen burning actual dollars.
